During the conversation, Marc talks about the album’s unusual beginnings in a collection of childhood dream notes, the long creative journey that followed, and the desire to create music that feels more like a place to enter than a collection of songs.

THE ECHO OF MEMORIES AMONG THE WAVES


What does this new chapter in your discography represent?

“Our music is part of a conceptual cycle: each album represents one of the four elements – earth, air, water and fire. Lyra-La represents water and tells the story of a man trapped between dream, memory and reality.
Fragments of an old childhood diary repeatedly resurface in the lyrics – notes documenting recurring and sometimes unsettling dreams. These motifs reappear in transformed forms and connect the music to a deeper level.”

How did you develop the compositional process?

“For me, Naria means freedom. I have never tried to follow trends or merge specific styles. What matters most to me are the subtle details that reveal themselves over time.
As a band, we work on delicate structures, develop leitmotifs, and transform harmonic and melodic patterns through different instruments. Music should constantly reveal new layers.”

Did the release follow the original plan?

“In terms of the overall concept, yes. Everything largely followed the original idea, although there was still room for spontaneous evolution.
I work with close friends and great musicians. It would have been wrong not to include their creativity. The album is built on both structure and spontaneity.”

How did you develop the lyrics?

“Since my teenage years I have been writing down intense recurring dreams that date back to early childhood. Many of these dreams are connected to real events that I still cannot fully understand. It was not trauma that led me to write them down – it was curiosity.
An old childhood notebook later became the key, bringing back memories and reconnecting me with a younger version of myself.”

What does the element of water represent to you?

“The ocean reflects my childhood dreams, which form the basis of the lyrics. At the same time, it is a metaphor for the subconscious and the dream world.
The concept of the four elements was not planned – it only emerged after writing the lyrics and rediscovering my old notes.”

How do dream and reality connect?

“Some of these dreams remain extremely vivid to me even today. I can still recreate their emotional intensity. Especially those that confronted me early in life with the reality of mortality. Later, studying Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development helped me make sense of these experiences. What remains today is curiosity.”
